Acupuncture

acupuncture on back meridian pointsAcupuncture is one of the oldest continuously practiced medical modalities in the world. It is used to prevent and treat disease, relieve pain, balance mood, enhance athletic performance, increase fertility, and improve overall health and wellness.

Modern research has shown that acupuncture is a safe, effective, chemical-free way to promote the body’s remarkable self-healing abilities. An acupuncture treatment involves the insertion and manipulation of flexible, hair-thin needles at specific points on the body. Most patients find the sensations produced by acupuncture treatment to be deeply relaxing.

At AcuWell Burlington, we do our best to ensure you have a gentle, pain-free experience. While there may occasionally be some intensity at particularly active meridian points, we encourage you to speak up and let us know if it is too much or if you feel pain or discomfort. Your comfort is our first priority.

Bodywork

Person getting a massageDrawing from Western massage techniques, Tui Na (literally, “pushing grasping;” a powerful form of Chinese medical bodywork), and other traditional Asian bodywork modalities, these gentle sessions are geared toward improving the flow of qi through the meridian channels. They are particularly effective for muscle, tendon, and joint conditions, such as structural misalignment, orthopedic problems, and sports injuries.

Pricing:
60 minutes - $80
30 minutes / add-on - $40

Cupping

Cupping treatment on person's backCupping is an ancient technique that is used in many cultures. A special cup is applied to the skin and held in place by suction. It can then either be left in place or moved along the body to provide a bodywork experience akin to a deep tissue massage. The suction draws tissue into the cup, which brings fresh blood to the area and helps improve circulation. While traditional cupping uses heat to create a vacuum-like suction inside of glass cups, today we use a small pump to create suction instead. This treatment is highly effective for very tight muscles and soft tissue injuries that are past the acute phase. Not recommended for recent injuries or bruised, punctured, or cut areas.

Pricing:
30 minutes / add-on - $40
